Meet Scott
Shadow Minister for Planning and Public Spaces, Shadow Minister for Housing, Shadow Minister for Cities, Shadow Minister for Hunter and the Central Coast and Member of the Legislative Council
Scott is passionate about keeping New South Wales moving forward with strong economic management, building crucial transport infrastructure, increasing efficiency and transparency in Government, investing in education, and reducing pressure on household budgets.
Maintaining deep ties to communities across our state, Scott is Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of Israel, the Parliamentary Friends of the United Kingdom, and the Parliamentary Friends of Mental Health.
Scott served as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer and for COVID Recovery from July 2020 to December 2021, a role which encompassed varied and detailed projects including supporting the NSW Federal Financial Relations Review, engaging with industry and businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, and supporting the delivery and implementation of COVID-19 related programs and stimulus.
Since entering Parliament, Scott has been the Leader of the House in the Legislative Council, and Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier, served as Chair of the Joint Standing Committee on the Office of the Valuer General, the Selection of Bills Committee, Standing Committee on Social Issues, Law & Justice, Regulation, and the Select Committee on Legislative Council committees system, and served as a member on various other committees.
Growing up in Sydney’s Inner West, Scott was the first member of his family to study at university, and has degrees in Law and Commerce from the University of Sydney, and a Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law.
Scott is married to Penny and the couple have two children, Christian and Collette.
Prior to entering Parliament, Scott served as both Mayor and as a Councillor on Strathfield Municipal Council, and has previously worked as an analyst and strategic advisor for large firms, State and Federal Parliamentarians.
