Local mother, English language teacher and former Liverpool Councillor, Tina Ayyad, has been preselected by Liberal Party Members as the candidate for Holsworthy.
Raising her three kids Solomon, Jacob and Eden-Rose with husband Ned, in the heart of South West Sydney, Tina has been passionate about the kind of place that her kids will grow up in.
A former Liverpool councillor and Deputy Mayor, Tina is excited about creating more opportunities and a better living environment for local families.
“I’m a local who lives and breathes South West Sydney, and I am very passionate about advocating for our community,” said Ms Ayyad. “From fighting to protect the George’s River, to delivering more local employment and educational opportunities.”
“This community is very warm and welcoming, and has been incredibly supportive of me and my family. In 2016, I took the opportunity to give back as a Liverpool councillor, by fighting to protect local small businesses with more CCTV cameras and against overdevelopment in Moorebank, delivering green canopy along Kurrajong Road, and advocating for the revitalisation of Light Horse Park and the Georges River.”
“I fought hard for more Council transparency and against Labor waste – blowing the whistle on budget blowouts, when Labor Council’s terrible financial management resulted in Civic Place costs more than doubling.”
“Since then I have been looking for an opportunity to do even more for our community – deliver more support for local businesses, more green spaces and community facilities, improve our roads and reduce traffic congestion.”
“Holsworthy is home to an incredible multicultural community, and I will fight to ensure that government services are delivered with their needs in mind, and ensure that people have an easier time dealing with government.”
“This community is facing many challenges, with none greater than the cost of living that has been squeezing businesses and local families between the rising fuel, mortgage and food costs.”
“The electorate has had a tireless advocate in Melanie Gibbons, who has always put this community first and delivered so much – from road and station upgrades, to delivering much needed support for so many in the community – and I look forward to continuing her work with a renewed energy and vision in the Perrottet Government.”
“Our Government is securing a brighter future for NSW families, by delivering programs that help to ease the pressure on household budgets, strengthening frontline services and investing in our communities.”
