Minister for Foreign Affairs and Minister for Women, Senator the Hon Marise Payne, and Retired Australian Defence Force Major-General, Senator Jim Molan AO DSC, were today selected by NSW Liberal Party Members to fill the first and third spots on the joint Coalition Senate ticket.
The Senate pre-selection was contested by outstanding candidates, including the former Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator the Hon Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, and lawyer, PR executive and President of the NSW Liberal Women’s Council, Cr Mary-Lou Jarvis.
Our Senate team will continue to fight for families and small businesses across New South Wales, and will ensure that our community benefits from the Morrison Government’s COVID recovery plan with a stronger economy and a more secure nation.
A Greens Labor alliance will put our record low unemployment at risk, with their radical agenda endangering jobs and investment across the country.
Labor and Anthony Albanese’s proposed approach to the budget will force new taxes on struggling families. They can’t say how they’ll pay for their promises, and they can’t manage money, meaning higher deficits and higher taxes.
When Labor was last in office, we saw higher unemployment, higher interest rates, and higher electricity prices - and not a single balanced budget.
The people of NSW will have a clear choice about our nation’s future at the coming federal election. Voting for NSW Liberal MPs and candidates will ensure the Morrison Government can deliver a stronger economy for our state and our nation, more jobs and a more secure Australia in these uncertain times.
