The NSW Government has today launched TAFE NSW’s new $6 million Digital Headquarters in Armidale.

Minister responsible for TAFE NSW and Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall today officially opened the new facility and said it heralded a revolution in online learning.

“TAFE Digital is the country’s largest online vocational education and training provider and this futuristic new facility will propel TAFE’s offering of ground breaking courses such as cyber-security, 3D computer aided design and web-based technologies,” Mr Marshall said.    “Thanks to TAFE Digital and the learning technologies that will be pioneered at the Digital HQ, people across the gamut of NSW will be able to access TAFE’s world class training anywhere and anytime they want.

“The NSW Government is removing barriers to learning and responding to overwhelming demand from our students who want the very best in flexible, digitallypowered learning.

“This announcement is also a huge boon for regional NSW, with Armidale set to benefit from this investment and the creation of 50 new high-skilled jobs, attracting talented workers from across the country.”

TAFE Digital is TAFE NSW’s online brand, offering students more than 250 courses. The Headquarters in Armidale will be responsible for developing and refining course content for TAFE Digital courses, using the latest in virtual reality, augmented reality and simulation.

TAFE Digital comes on top of the range of measures the NSW Government has implemented to strengthen TAFE’s traditional classroom learning, including the rollout of 14 state-of-the-art Connected Learning Centres (CLCs) and $131 million dollars in capital works expenditure in the 2017-18 Budget.
