Southern Highlands residents will soon experience a new era of government services as the Bowral Service Centre undergoes a major transformation to become the third location in the country to offer Services Australia’s improved face-to-face service experience.
Minister for Government Services Stuart Robert today announced the Bowral Service Centre transformation would begin this weekend with state-of-the-art government services on offer to local residents by the end of March. This will include upgraded self-service facilities and digital support, appointment based services, and connections to specialist services.
‘The Morrison Government is committed to ensuring Australians have access to government services that are simple, helpful, respectful and transparent and transforming the face-to-face customer experience is a large part of this.’ Minister Robert said.
‘Changes to services delivered at Bowral Service Centre through 2020, including the ability to book an appointment for Centrelink business has been well received across the Southern Highlands community and I look forward to seeing it transformed into a nation-leading service over coming weeks.’
The Bowral Service Centre will be refurbished over four weekends. Works will commence at close of business on Friday 26 February and will be complete by the end of March. During the refurbishment period, there will be no disruption to services and customers can still access the full range of face-to-face services at the service centre.
The physical transformation is the next step on Services Australia’s national transformation of services. Bowral will join Woy Woy on the Central Coast and Perth in Western Australia as concept sites to explore, test and evaluate new services which will improve Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support services for all Australians. Customers will have the opportunity to provide feedback about the new service experience.
