Global health executive and mental health advocate, Matt Cross, has been preselected by Liberal Party Members as the candidate for Davidson.
After returning from Harvard more than four years ago, Matt and his wife Gessika are proud to have made the Davidson electorate home, where they are involved in the community and plan to start a family.
Matt serves as a director of St Ives Rotary Club, and is a strong supporter of Lifeline, running marathons and completing the Kokoda Trail to raise funds and awareness for suicide prevention.
With more than 15 years of experience in public policy, Matt has worked for the past seven years in the not-for-profit and corporate sectors, including The George Institute for Global Health and KPMG Australia. He was previously a senior adviser to former NSW Premiers Mike Baird and Barry O’Farrell.
“I am incredibly excited and energised by the opportunity to advocate for our local community,” said Mr Cross. “Davidson is wonderful place to live and raise a family. I will be a local champion for preserving our stunning green spaces, beautiful waterways and the amazing heritage.”
“Community is at the heart of Davidson, where more than one in four people volunteer, and that is something we should all be rightly proud of. I intend to put this approach at the centre of everything I do – always putting the needs of our community first.”
“I will be a strong local voice, and I will deliver the highest level of public service to the people of Davidson.”
“Davidson has had the great fortune of having strong representation. I pay tribute to Jonathan O’Dea MP, who leaves a strong local legacy of substantial investment in local infrastructure, train station access upgrades, more bus services and major road improvements.”
“I will seek to continue his hard work by delivering and advocating for more infrastructure for our schools, roads, and public transport.”
“This community, like so many others, is dealing with tough economic challenges brought on by a rising inflation, spiking prices and a difficult global economic climate. That is why I will use my strong public policy experience to support the Perrottet Government in delivering relief and support for our community.”
“The Perrottet Government is securing a brighter future for NSW families, by helping to ease the pressure on household budgets, strengthening local frontline services and investing in our community infrastructure.”
