An elected Dutton Liberal Government will provide $15,500 from a revitalised Safer Communities Fund (SCF) to install a new security system and upgrade the carpark at SAGE Community Services in Pendle Hill.
SAGE Community Services is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation that has supported local children, women and families with a range of services and group work programs for almost fifty years.
Liberal candidate for Parramatta, Katie Mullens, said this commitment would help ensure those otherwise most vulnerable in our community feel safe as they go about their daily lives.
"I’ve heard firsthand from our community that safety is a top priority and we’re responding with practical measures to help ensure SAGE remains a safe space,” Ms Mullens said.
“People need to feel safe, especially when they’re seeking support in challenging times or escaping violence.
Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Shadow Minister for Cyber Security, Senator James Paterson, said under a Dutton Coalition Government, Parramatta will be stronger, more secure, and better supported to tackle crime.
“Getting Australia Back on Track means keeping Australia safe – safe for families, safe for businesses, and safe for communities,” Senator Paterson said.
"Projects delivered under the Safer Communities Fund will help protect local communities by ensuring they have appropriate security infrastructure in place such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems and security lighting."
The revitalised SCF will build on the programme established by the previous Coalition Government, delivering grant funding to councils, schools, and local organisations to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, enhance security around community spaces, and promote social cohesion.
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to get Australia back on track.
